How do we support the PAX A920 Max on Payroc Cloud?
Payroc Cloud works by sending instructions from your POS to a specific device, identified by its serial number, rather than needing a direct connection between the two. For Android devices like the A920 Max, you can run the Payroc App either alongside your POS app on the same device, or on a separate device entirely, whichever suits your setup.
If you're building your first integration, either configuration gets you to the same place: your POS sending sale instructions to the device, and the device reporting back. If you already support another PAX device under either configuration, nothing changes, neither setup is specific to this device model, so the pattern you've already built keeps working.
The device itself doesn't need special handling either. Every device, whether it's your first or your fifth, works with Payroc Cloud using the device’s serial number.
Why offer it to your merchants?
The upgrades are aimed squarely at the checkout counter:
- A 6.5-inch touchscreen with automatic portrait and landscape switching, making signatures, PIN entry, and on-screen prompts easier for customers to read and use
- Faster 5G and Wi-Fi to keep transactions moving when a merchant's connection is under strain during a rush, plus a newer processor that cuts the wait between taps
- A longer-lasting battery, which matters most on the busiest days
For merchants already using another PAX device on Payroc Cloud, the day-to-day flow doesn't change, whichever of the two Android setups above they're already on, the A920 Max slots into the same one.
Get started
If you're new to Payroc Cloud, start with the integration guide for whichever Android setup fits your POS, same device or separate device, then use our API to send your first sale instruction. If you already support other PAX devices with Payroc Cloud, there's nothing new to build, just add the PAX A920 Max to your integration.
